Welcome to the Computing Education Group

The Computing Education Group (Computer Science and its Education) is concerned with the teaching of computer science.  We offer classes in computing education aimed primarily at students training to become high school teachers.  Our research focus is on programming education, i.e. how novices learn programming, what difficulties they encounter and how we may assist them overcome these difficulties.  We also maintain the student lab for computer science (Lehr-Lern-Labor)—our outreach programme for high school students—and are part of the department of informatics.
